Web Design Trends 2017
If you’re looking to redesign your website but don’t know where to start, you’re in luck. Today we’re going to be providing some great tips for all to take advantage of. From functionality to colour and typography, so many different aspects go into website design, and the things that we will be listing today are what have been the most popular and successful so far this year:
Gradients: Look back at web designs from a few years ago and you will see no gradients, however this year gradients have been making a huge comeback, now used for many websites in an abundance of sectors. When gradients first started to make a comeback they were incredibly subtle, take the Apple iOS icons for example, however gradients being used are now big, bold and boasting plenty of colour.
Video with sound: People are now watching more videos than ever before, in a plethora of formats too including but not limited to YouTube videos and movies. Websites are also now mimicking this cinematic experience, installing videos on their homepages which also feature sound. We have seen both auto-play videos and videos that are not auto-play so if this is something that you are interested in, the choice in yours.
Super simple homepages: A lot of companies and businesses have started to strip down their homepages, with a lot of leading website designers now choosing to feature only a word or two on the first page of their designs. Simple and minimalistic approaches are key for 2017. You need to make sure that you give users enough information in the simple design however to keep them on your website. If this is something that you’re interested in you are probably best leaving it to the professionals such as https://www.rankingsolutions.com/design-and-development/.
More parallax: In 2016 we saw many website featuring parallax scrolling effects and designers have only developed this further, improving mouse-based movements and more. You should look for parallax effects that move up rather than down and movements in which capture a more layered design.
Tactile design: Web designers are starting to make website look more tactile, layering photographs and much more. Rather than using illustrations a lot of reputable web design companies are now using images in which users almost feel as though they can reach out and touch. Images being used are in a lot of cases also becoming more natural, featuring elements that are made from materials found in nature.
These are only some of the greatest web design trends that we have seen so far this year too, with many more available we thoroughly advise all looking to update their websites to take time looking at other recently designed websites to get ideas and to see what they like.
